Monebo and NXP have partnered to offer the industries first ECG-on-a-Chip, a solution that puts intelligent ECG analysis at the fingertips of medical and consumer device designers. The partnership allows customers to choose one of Monebo’s Kinetic Algorithms, and match it with one of NXP’s broad line of processors. The combination has been optimized up and down the product line, for efficient battery use, processing power, and memory. NXP is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking and wireless markets. The privately held company is based in Austin, Texas, and has design, research and development, manufacturing or sales operations in more than 30 countries.

Monebo is a member of the CSRC and shares its mission to advance scientific knowledge on cardiac safety for new and existing medical products by building a collaborative environment based upon the principles of the FDA’s Critical Path Initiative as well as other public health priorities. Monebo has extensive experience in ECG technology and has developed tools for fully automated analysis, which should lead to more efficient, accurate and reproducible pharmaceutical cardiac safety studies. Additionally, Monebo is working to validate the use of new biomarkers that would signal an impending issue that could lead to an arrhythmia. Working with the CSRC, Monebo intends to further investigate these technologies, and also provide expertise on other research projects undertaken by the CSRC and its members.

Monebo Technologies is a proud graduate company of the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI). The ATI provides strategic counsel, operational guidance, and infrastructure support to member companies and helps them transition from early stage ventures to successful technology businesses. ATI harnesses local business, government, and academic resources to achieve its mission and is a key program of the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin. Since 1989, ATI has graduated over 70 technology-based companies including five that have reached the public markets. ATI companies have raised more than $600 million in capital and reported revenues exceeding $1 billion.

Monebo and Fairway Medical began their strategic relationship when Monebo contracted with Fairway to help with the design and manufacturing of the CardioBelt ECG Acquisition Device. With Fairway’s expertise in the field of medical devices, the relationship deepened to include an exchange of business, marketing, clinical, design and manufacturing ideas, finally resulting in Fairway becoming a strategic investor in Monebo. Fairway is an integrated medical device development and manufacturing company with expertise in all phases of the development process. It is a portfolio company of BCM Technologies, the venture capital subsidiary of Baylor College of Medicine.

Monebo participates in the Industry Affiliates Program of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. The program provides financial support for the Biomedical Engineering Seminar Series and for student organizations. Monebo has developed a strategic relationship with Vesalius Ventures and is one of their portfolio companies. Vesalius Ventures is a seed-stage investment venture capital accelerator specializing in telemedicine, medical informatics and technology. Located in Houston, Texas, the firm helps create, fund and nurture new companies who will significantly shape health care in the 21st century.
